OMA is primarily intended for diagnosing mathematics strengths/weaknesses in the developmental curriculum. OMA could be used in a math class, a learning center, or as part of an institution’s placement process. OMA scores are given to each student immediately upon completion of the assessment. All data is stored for access by the test administrator.
OMA is an inexpensive assessment instrument of mathematics strengths/weaknesses in the developmental curriculum. OMA was designed to inform the instructional process. Three forms of OMA make it possible for the instructor to use it as a pre-test, mid-term, and final. Items of OMA are designed to assess strengths/weaknesses on five types of mathematics skills. Six OMA scores are given to individual students and administrators. An overall score covers all 40 items.
