The Learning and Study Strategies Inventory (LASSI) is an assessment tool designed to measure students' use of learning and study strategies and methods. It is a diagnostic and prescriptive measure. The focus is on both covert and overt thoughts and behaviors that relate to successful learning and can be altered through educational interventions. Thus, both student thought processes and behaviors are assessed. In addition, these thought processes and behaviors contribute significantly to success in post-secondary educational and training settings and can be learned or enhanced through educational interventions.
Nine years of research, development, and testing have led to the creation of this statistically valid and reliable tool. Please see the LASSI User's Manual for a more detailed description and test-retest reliability information.
The links at the top of the page allow you to gather information about students who have taken the LASSI at your school.
