Introduction to the PPST TestThe Pre-Professionsal Skills Tests (PPST) is a standardized achievement test that measures selected communication and mathematics skills. This online program is designed to meet the needs of any student who is preparing for such a standardized test. The PPST measures the communication and computation skills that college students should have acquired by the end of their sophomore year. Students are challenged by tests in reading, writing, essay writing, and mathematics. The objectives for all tests were established by subject area specialists using a process that included extensive literature review, interviews with public school teachers, a large-scale survey of teachers, and pilot tests. This online program is designed around the content objectives of the PPST. The instruction sections and sample tests directly relate to the information provided by Educational Testing Service in the book, The PPST Guide. When possible, the screens of this online program will have a format similar to that of the PPST, but there are places where the format could not be maintained. Although this program is complete in terms of test preparation, there is an obvious need for prior completion of the college course work upon which the PPST depends.
