Explanation of the General Knowledge Test Competencies in Mathematics

There are 24 Competencies. Some are tested by a single test item, but most of the competencies are tested by more than one test item. The screens of this instructional program describe each competency and give numerous examples to show the many ways that competency may be tested.

The competencies have been organized into five categories. These categories, along with the number of test items assigned to them, are listed below.
