Introduction: Reading Skills

This section begins with a listing and description of the competencies included in the reading subtest along with some instruction to further illustrate the skills and knowledge needed to pass the CLAST.

The section contains four sample reading tests which show the types of questions that can be expected on the reading subtest.

For best use of this program, spend some time looking at the objectives and the examples. Then take a practice test to see how well you understand them. The answers at the end of the reading section explain why the answer given is the correct choice. Go back to those that you missed for a review of the principles before taking another practice test.
