Introduction: CLAST Competencies in Mathematics There are 56 Math Competencies which are separated into five categories: Arithmetic, Geometry/Measurement, Algebra, Statistics/Probability, and Logic. Each of the 56 competencies is tested by questions on the sample tests provided with this program. To use this program for its maximum benefits, it is suggested that you begin by reading through the following pages where the 56 competencies are described and illustrated by sample problems. Then try one of the sample tests. The computer will grade it and show your results. For any item, you will be able to see how it could have been correctly answered. Re-study any competencies that are weak. Then take another test and repeat the process for improving your likelihood of passing the CLAST math test. You need to correctly answer at least 75% of the questions on a sample test to confidently approach the real testing situation. |
