The graph below interprets your responses to INCLASS. The numbers on the top and bottom of the chart show percentile ranks. You can use these percentile ranks to compare your scores to other students' scores. For example, if you scored in the 80th percentile in Attitude and Interest (QUAL), you scored higher than 80 percent of other students answering the same questions.
What do these scores mean to you? Higher scores are often linked to better performance in the classroom. For example, people with a strong sense of quality will usually have fewer errors in their papers, those with a strong sense of responsibility will tend to get their work done on time, and those with a high persistence rating will tend to stick to a project or study for a test longer than those with a lower rating.
What should you do with your scores? You can improve yourself in any or all of the seven areas. Build on your strengths; improve those areas where you already score well. Find ways to improve on any scores that are lower than you would like. Time spent in upgrading these skills, habits, and styles will pay handsome dividends. The meanings of the codes along with a brief description of each scale are in the table below.

measures your interest in learning, your curiosity, and your desire to explore new information and ideas. |

QUAL score: (A Sense of Quality) |
measures your attention to details, your dissatisfaction with just doing the minimum, and your desire to excel. |

RESP score: (Taking Responsibility) |
measures your tendency to live up to commitments, 'own' problems that affect you, worry about what needs to be done, and make sure tasks are done right. |

PERS score: (Persisting) |
measures your tendency to stick with a task until it is completed, even when it turns out to be tougher than you would like. |

measures your skills and attitudes toward working on problems and tasks with others as a team assignment. |
